A classic Mini rebuilt into a fast road car with the intentions of the odd track day but ultimately something I can tinker with.
What have I done? Everything was going fine in my life, but then I met up with a friend who had recently completed the restoration of his £150 VW Beetle. It looked amazing and as I’d seen him working on it on and off over the past year I wanted something to that I could tinker with (well you can’t code all the time despite what some of my clients would like).
So I started scouring eBay in the hope that would scratch my itch. I knew it had to be a Mini as my first car was one and I had fond memories of working on the little beast in all weather with sod all tools. So now I had a shed and a welder I thought it was time to have another go. Needless to say the bidding went well as I found this little thing longing for a loving home.

Once on the drive way it was time to get stuck in and make her comfy. Due to the amount of work I knew she needed I stripped everything remaining on her (stashing it in my now over full shed) ready for the task a head.

I knew the rear subframe (the hunk of steel that holds all the rear wheels, brakes and suspension together) would have to come off it was completely rotten through. This can take days but was actually over in a very short 3 hours (with a few scuffed knuckles along the way).

The front of the car had already had alot of work done on it by the previous owner. All that was left was to finish off the rear (yes, of course its that simple). Trouble is with the petrol tank, carpets, wheels, etc. out the way the true amount of work required starts to show through. Damn you tin worm!

After a week of working on lots of small things and not feeling like i was getting anywhere fast, i finally managed to get our build server running with 100% successful builds (Woohoo!) Just checked the server after the first un-monitored dropdown generator build with the amended unzipper script and we have a ton of brand spanking new javascript files on both CMS1 and CMS2.
